I love Holidays but quite frankly Halloween and I just don't seem to be getting along like we used. It is reasonable to think that I miss my totally awesome 3rd grade homemade trasnformer costume. You might think that I miss the cakewalks. You might think that I miss walking around La Cima with my pillow case filling it up with cheap candy. Maybe I do miss the haunted houses my siblings and I would make in our attic and the front yard cook-off my parents would host on Halloween night.
The honest truth is that I don't like Halloween anymore because the candy flow has been reversed. It used to be that the candy came in on Halloween and sometime around President's day I would finish off that last piece of candy corn. Now Rosie buys the candy weeks before the big day so that it can sit on our shelf and stare me in the face taunting me. It is my candy but I don't get to eat it. And on Halloween I have to stay at home and hand out my candy when I know that I should be out there bumming candy of my neighbors instead of giving it to their kids.
At least the pre-Halloween activities are still fun.

Hey Great Pumpkins!! Also I think you may have gotten a hair cut. Nic Hair! And as for Rosie keeping the candy for Halloween, good for her. She has self-control, that is a good...Dad gave me part of his Hershey Bar last night. Our candy is up so high, I can't reach it. But, that does not keep me from snacking on the chocolate chips which are on the baking shelf. By the way, have you voted yet? We can vote early at our public library. Nothing like Halloween and fall, so pretty. love Mom Babs
Wait til' you have kids...the magic of Halloween will all come back again!:) The candy thing will never be the same though! Darn!:) Cute pictures. I have a friend who went to that Body World 3 - she said it was amazing too. Is it still going on?
At first I thought this was Rosie writing, and I was thinking that you were both trasfomers for Halloween and I was thinking that you guys really are so perfect together! (Well you are, regardless)
I have an excellent solution for you Jack, you need to borrow a baby. About three months is perfect. People can't say no to a baby. That's like taking candy from a baby. And the baby is too young to want the candy, so you can eat it all! Perfect! Good Luck.
Awesome Jack AND Lanterns!
Having both of you write was a special treat. Your blog will be full of great memories.
How did people get along before it was possible to have color pictures and slides of the casual moments and the fun times?
Thinking of you,

I feel for you Jackson and your candy plight. I have one too. Adam does not like me to buy Halloween candy early because I always discover where it is hid and eat it before Halloween has even arrived. It's funny; I would never peek early at a Christmas gift but candy well that's different.
I loved seeing all of your fall pictures. You and Rosie look very happy and it looks like you are having a lot of fun (even if you still have to give candy away.) Hope you have a Happy Halloween! We would love to have you come over if you are not busy!
I concurr with the others, get yourself a young'un and the free candy will be free flowing.
